Parallel Query Parent Statement explain plan extraction

Has anyone got a handy bit of 9iSQL to extract the parent SQL statement from v$sqlarea that has kicked off several parallel slaves? I have some code that is supposed to be doing that, but there is this one statement that it extracts and then tries to perform an explain plan on that keeps crashing... So I can only think that somehow I'm not getting the right statement or it's somehow coming across corrupted. I've also tried to lookup this SQL in the v$sql_plan table and extract the plan from there and I get disconnected from the session when I try. This is application generated code, so I don't have access to the original SQL.

Help please :-))
