This is what i am doing:

1- login to sqlplus on solaris
2- spool temp.out
3- run an sql file useing: @myfile.sql
   Sql file contains this:
     set termout off        
set head off           
set echo off           
set feedback off       
set pagesize 0         

4- spool off
