Yes. This is where it gets interesting. England and the colonies didn't adopt the Gregorian Calendar Reform until September, 1752.

October, 1582 had its normal 31 days in the British Empire and September, 1752 had its normal 30 days outside the British Empire.

So what does all this mean? Technically, Oracle's date routines are correct in some parts of the world but not others.

Does it have any relation to year 1752 adjustment for leap year?
