so what is your question .

I have 2 questions regarding the machine column in V$SESSION.

  1. It shows just the machine name of the server for all the background processes, but for all user connections it shows domain\machine_name
  2. Also for user processes, the machine name is appended with a chr(0) whereas for background processes it is not.

Oracle 8.0.6.1 Windows NT
