Santosh,

Oracle has an installation program which will create the internal tables, views, tablespaces, etc required to start Oracle. It will guide you through that process fairly well. After that, if you want to create a separate user / tablespace / whatever to support another application then that is either up to yourself or the other application. I say that because many applications that connect to Oracle include scripts which create their specific tables, etc.

In terms of getting Oracle up and running though the installer should guide you through that, and can even create a demo user (his name is Scott) with a few tables (a Human Resources application, although considerably less complex than SAP HR) to play around with.

Regards,

     Mark.

Santosh,

I don't mean to be rude here, and there are lots of people, including myself, who try to be helpful. But, it's simply not possible to give a list of "what all needs to be installed." It's like showing up in a room full of construction workers and saying, "Hi, I'm about to start building my house, but I've never done this before. Can you please give me a list of things I need to do and pointers as to what I need to look out for?"

If you have specfic issues or problems, or if a particular concept is not clear, I'm sure there are many who would be willing to help. Ask specific questions, you'll get specific answers.

Also, always specify O/S, O/S version, and Oracle version. Oracle is a constantly moving target. It's impossible to give a clear and complete answer without that.

Hope that helps,

-Mark
