You try using direct=y on the export to see if it speeds things up enough that you don't get shot down. There are some cases where you can't do this
(I would have to look it up to get them all): For example, if you are using
the query=.... parameter. But most of the time, you can greatly reduce the export time using the direct=y parameter.
