RE: iSeries Production Database

Hmmmm...it wasn't too long ago -- 5 years -- that I was talking with a friend of a friend who ran an AS400 shop. They rebooted nightly because of a memory leak where they'd run out of pointers or stack space or some such nonsense if they didn't.

Even after the leak was patched, I believe they continued the archaic practice because a reboot "cleaned things up"!!!
