I like Tom Kyte's suggestion:

Here's a pencil and paper. Diagram out Oracle for me. Show me the various sets of files, and the different processes that make up the instance. Breifly explain what type of information is in each file or set of files, and the purpose of the various background processes.

Now, THAT is a question you really can't worm your way out of. Either you know it or you don't. And if you don't, you don't have any business passing yourself off as an Oracle DBA.
