Where is the backup piece? Is it in a same named directory as in the other machine?

I am restoring the whole database.

regarding RMAN-06026 I think RMAN is not able to find where my backup piece is. For the controlfile I could specify 'restore from' whereas that is not allowed for database or datfiles.
