Thanks for pointing out the Note.
However, Note 19796.1 isn't very helpful. It does talk of buffersize, and I have tried changing the Arraysize (but not the buffersize) in sqlplus. The note seems to indicate that the problem could be in the client application.
When querying across a db-link, which would be the client ? The database where the db-link exists (9.2.0.1) or the SQLPlus (8.0.6 on Windows) where the query is fired ? Both are Oracle products and I expect an Oracle reply.
