Vivek - Offhand I'd say "it depends". If there are 10 rows in each table, I'd vote for the 6-table join. If there are 10 billion rows in each table and you only need one row from each, I'd vote for the individual queries. Another factor would be how option 2 is accessing the database. If it is in a PL/SQL program, that would favor option 2 more than if it is in a program executing on the client PC over a slow WAN. These are my thoughts worth every cent you paid to get them.

2) Running 1 SQL Query on a Single Table , getting the Output Values in a Cursor
& passing the Cursor Values as Arguments to the where Clause of a 2nd SQL Query
Running on a 2nd Table & thus so on ... thereby finally getting the Output from the 6th Table
