Gene,

If it helps any, I had the privilege of setting up OAS ( several names ago )
on both NT and Solaris 2.6.

Solaris was by far easier. I can't emphasize enough how much simpler it was on *nix than on Windoze.

Windoze:

Step 1: do something
Step 2: reboot
Step 3: try something else
Step 4: reboot

Solaris:

Step 1: Install
Step 2: Configure
Step 3: implement.

Jared

Subject: 9iAS Application Server: Win2k vs. Linux?

I am not looking for an OS war, but has anyone on the list had experience in setting up/administering 9iAS rel 2. (1.0.2.2.2a) on Win2k or Red Hat Linux? I have the option of selecting the OS on this one. All of my oracle databases are on AIX (sort of like unix). I have 1 OAS 4.0.8.2 App Server running on NT. I am not sure if I should continue the NT track for App Servers or go Linux? Any opinions, experiences would be appreciated. Thanks,

Gene

PS. I will also be running the Forms Server w/ this.
