Yechiel,

No, it is available at 8.1.7 also, it worked through a dblink. I thought it will do it thru the local tnsnames.

tks

Ramon

I checked the docs for 8.1.6 and 9.0.1.   I think that the copy command is new in 9i.   make sure that you are logged on to 9i sqlplus when you issue this command.

    Hi list,

I am trying to copy one table from a DB 9.0.1 on Linux RH to a DB 8.1.7 on NT using this statement

COPY FROM RAMON_at_ORLNX TO RAMON_at_IBOR CREATE DATBAL_TMP USING SELECT * FROM DATOS_BALANCES;     ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00900: invalid SQL statement

Do I need a DBLINK, if yes, is it obligatory ?

    TIA,     Ramon E. Estevez
