Luc -
I still wonder about the situation where you are running archivelog and
you want to recover to the current time or as close as possible using
backups and archive logs, but have a bad backup. So you need to restore to a
prior backup (before the most recent), and move forward using archive logs.
In that case, you couldn't use "set until time" because RMAN would still try
to use the most recent backup. If you think of a solution, pass it along.
Robert - maybe you should include this one in your upcoming book,
which we will all be buying.
