Version of database?. Have you set ORACLE_HOME as well as ORACLE_SID? What command are you typing. Are you running from an authorised account that allows internal connection (within the dba group)

I´m trying to connect as internal and I get the error 24314:service handle not initialized.
Before executing the sqlplus command, I have set the oracle_sid variable to my db one.
Any idea?
