RE: ORACLE-L list and latency (???)

John, Alexandre

My theory is that fatcity uses the delay to prevent (or reduce) list users from using the group as a chat line. Given that they are providing this as a free service. When someone has an urgent problem, I try to copy them directly so they don't have to wait for a reply. Dennis Williams

The same problem. Sometimes it takes up to 2 hours. :( My usual latency - 30-60 min.

To see where is the problem I wanted to take a look at the headers of my emails when it comes to the list, I have written to ORACLE-OWNER_at_fatcity.com and Postmaster_at_fatcity.com but my messages had bounced back due to timeout. 8-( However, I know this email adresses are alive. Looks like our messages are stacked somewhere for a while. Are there others with the similar symptoms?
