One can 'plug' in a DMT via TTS..... but can not make it writable... ;)

I would treat dmt's as obsolete. (In 9.2, all tablespaces default to locally managed, and furthermore, if you create system as lmt in 9.2, all subsequent tablespaces must also be lmt)..

I would not be surprised to see dmt's disappear altogether at some stage in future.
