Hi,  

SGA is Shared Global Area or System Global Area Redo Log Files are part of your "redundancy set files" storing before and after images of changes Control files are your one of your database controller, required at the first startup to identify where are all your data files and the last SCN.  

Oracle Concept Document is a very good source of knowledge, everything you want to know including "redundancy set" and "SCN"
