There ain't no substitute for doing your own research, then asking for help when you need.

Personally, I sometimes find SQL*Net baffling. There must be a hundred different ways to setup the listeners, names, tnsnames.ora, sqlnet.ora, tracing, MTS, yadda, yadda, yadda.

I still ask questions, but I try to do it myself first, ala RTFM.

Oracle book: What a travesty. That idea undoubtedly sprung from the 'fertile' 'mind' of a PHB.

PHB: Hey, this internet thingy is really catching on! Let's make our own really lame browser and force it on our customers!

RTFM was a last resort when I had to use Oracle Book.

Some enterprising soul created a utility to convert the OB format to HTML. I wish I knew who to thank for that one.
