The company I am working for is planning to move the whole production server to a new faster box. As DBA, I will move the database and planning to use hot backup files in order to minimize the production server down time. Are there any issues or drawbacks I need to be aware of if the hot backup files are used to replicate the database?

This is 8.1.7 on Solaris 2.7

Thanks,

-Li Zhang
