Works great, but you cannot use the new Oracle8i standby database functionality, such as automatic file shipping and automated apply.

Just have to do it "the old way"...

  Can we set up a standby database if I install Oracle Standard Edition.I read one article on   metalink which says "However, the Standard Edition of Oracle does not   support an Oracle Standby Database."
