Ravindra - Look at the document
http://technet.oracle.com/products/oracle9i/pdf/9idb_rel2_prod_fam.pdf
<http://technet.oracle.com/products/oracle9i/pdf/9idb_rel2_prod_fam.pdf>
It lists "basic readable standby database" as a feature of both SE and EE. I didn't see where it listed as an alternative to this. By readable I assume it is referring to the fact that in 8i your standby could either be accepting archive logs or opened as read-only, and that 9i can simultaneously accept logs and read-only queries. Can we set up a standby database if I install Oracle Standard Edition.I read one article on
metalink which says "However, the Standard Edition of Oracle does not support an Oracle Standby Database."
