All

On one of the database servers we have, the oratab file has been changed to include a :<parameter> after each entry and that parameter is used to determine whether the database is supposed to be shutdown at a certain time.

It kind of struck me as a odd way to do this... This created problems for me when I was trying to get OEM discover this database and I had to remove this parameter to get OEM discover the database.

So the question is : Have you seen this some where else? Is this (editing of oratab) supported?

PS : This is not my database. I had to look into it for some other reason and I discovered this.

TIA Babu
