Lisa,

I'm not entirely sure what you mean when you say

"Has anyone gotten this product to generate DDL in a readable, logical manner?"

but we have a tool that deals solely with manipulating and documenting DDL from export files. The format is easily readable, from either on screen
(GUI), within the SQL creation scripts that the tool spools out, or within
the HTML documentation on the DDL, that the tool creates.

You can do things like strip the storage clauses of certain or all objects, or create "rules" that can manipulate things like passwords within DBLinks for example.

You want to hear the best part? It's *free*! That's right, uh huh.. Free.. Go grab yourself a copy:

And if you want to share your feedback with me - well that's a bonus! ;)

Hello all,

I spent the weekend screwing around with Erwin. What a waste. I could not believe how poorly it generated DDL. Has anyone gotten this product to generate DDL in a readable, logical manner?

I am using Version 4.0, SP1
