Is this the same old symcjit.dll problem? I had the same problem..

If this is the same one, copy the install CDs to your local hard drive, and search for "symcjit.dll" (there should be around 3 instances of it. Replace these with this one:

http://www.cool-tools.co.uk/Products/Downloads/symcjit.dll

Then either run the install straight from your hard drive, or re-burn the CDs and install from those. I shouldn't think this will be applicable to LINUX though..

To get round the installer issue on NT4 with a P4, you merely need to download a patch from Metalink. Sorry, I'm working remotely today and don't have access to the patch number. Jump onto metalink and search around for strings like 'Pentium 4'. Should come up with the goods for you.

We got the same problem with 8.1.7 on NT4 on P4.

No solution as yet.
