Ron, This information is incorrect. RAC is available on there platforms without shared file systems. I have RAC running on SUN, NT and Linux. All of these platforms have shared raw devices and are concurrently accessed. RAC on shared file systems is only supported on Tru64, OpenVMS and starting in July it will be supported on Solaris using Veritas's CFS (9iR2+ Only). Oracle is also developing a CFS that will ship later this summer or fall that will be supported with 9iR2. The other thing is that RAC does not support SAN drives at this time. Only single instance environments support SAN environments with specific equipment.
