Re: Solaris 2.8

the '2.' prefix has been dropped in favor of just the '8'. This change was started with Solaris 7 but there is still a lot of mixed documentation around. The '2.' really served no purpose anyway.

the '5.' prefix refers to the SunOS version underlying the specific Solaris '2.' version.
