I don't think this should be a problem but just asking.

This is all on NT/W2K

On server A, I have a database running 8.1.7.1.5

On server B, I have other databases running 8.1.7.3.2.

To consolidate servers I plan to:

1. Take a hot backup (since it is production) of the database on Server A.
2. Restore the backup to server B.
3. Copy archive logs, online redo logs and control file from server A to B.
4. Start the database on server B and initiate recovery - required since was a hot backup and to get any logs generated from time of backup and until actual switch over.
5. Run the 8.1.7.3.2 patch scripts.

I don't think this should be a problem since both databases are 8.1.7 just different versions. Note, no upgrade scripts will be run other than catalog/catproc per the 8.1.7.3.2 instructions.
