Hi,

After I issued lsnrctl start ORACL816, the 816 listener started, but the status shows "the listener supports no services."

STATUS of the LISTENER

Alias LISTENER816
Version TNSLSNR for Solaris: Version
8.1.6.0.0 - Production
Start Date 08-APR-2002 13:23:25
Uptime 0 days 0 hr. 7 min. 16 sec
Trace Level off
Security OFF
SNMP OFF

Listener Parameter File
/export/apps/oracle/admin/product/8.1.6/network/admi listener.ora
Listener Log File
/export/apps/oracle/admin/product/8.1.6/network/log/ stener816.log
The listener supports no services
The command completed successfully

I shutdown and restart the instance, it still cannot be registered in the listener.

As a result, when I tried to log in, I got: ORA-12514: TNS:listener could not resolve SERVICE_NAME given in connect descriptor

Any suggestion? Much appreciated!

Janet
