Amen Sister. You took the words right out of my mouth.

I would also add that on our platform (HP-UX, Netbackup), the integration between RMAN and our Netbackup libraries is great. All my Oracle backups go right into the company infrastructure jukebox and the tape management handled by the operations staff.
