Pipo,

I used to get this all the time with DBCA on NT. It should be creating a log file, I don't remember where, but I think its the same place as the oracle installer does. This happened so much to me, that when I do use DBCA now, instead of having it create the database, I have it just generate the scripts, then cut and paste each command into a window so I can watch what it is doing, and see where it errors.

Assistant. when it reaches the part
that Oracle instace is able to start
in this procedure, the process
seems like stalling or hanging. but
no error dialog appears. i dunno
the cause. my OS is solaris.
