I think that this situation called for master to master replication. In this situation updates to each DB are forward to the second DB.

What connection do you have between the two computers? In our installation there is NO connection between internet and intranet.

The dynamic TCP/IP address can be resolved using DNS and working with the computer NAME instead of TCP/IP address.
