Ok, this must by a troll. Once a day? Manually? Is he kidding? A checkpoint is a normal thing. It is minimally impactful, and takes up a very small proportion of the DBW0 write batch. Real sites checkpoint all the time under heavy usage conditions and nobody gets hurt.
