Where do the replacement files come from, how can one tell you have the correct version?

I have had this problem, it is a bug with the Pentium 4 chip. My work around, is fine for installing Oracle client's, but the full DB is a bit more difficult.

I want to share with you a solution .   The problem is : On Pentium 4 machines , windows gives java.exe error everysecond.   The solution is : replace the jvm.dll and symcjit.dll in the jre directory of 9i db CD to where you find them on your oracle home and program files.

  Then the life is better..

The degree of normality in a database   is inversely proportional to that of its DBA.
