Can't say about recommended, but we analyze most of our tables weekly
(during a slow time on Sunday) and the two tables that have lots of delete
and insert activity and often vary widely in size from day to day are analyzed daily.

What is the recommended frequency of analyzing schemas in an OLTP environment?

DB size near 8 GB. Oracle 8.1.7.0.0 on NT 4.
