A quick and easy way, though there may be better or even easier ways that the list will no doubt tell us about..

 select distinct sid from v$mystat;

Hi,
my problem is as follows:
I want do determine the machine name (and other info) from pl/sql,of the client from which i have logged in
e.g. suppose i have logged from machine 'power_machine' as user 'puser' my pl/sql has info. that the current user 'puser'

How do i retrive my sid for this session, which is in V_$SESSION.

so basically i want the SID of the current session Thx
