There was a thread re. this a couple of days ago.

Basically, because Oracle will run its apps suite on LINUX doesn't mean it is jettisoning SUN altogether - In my opinion they just want to be more competitive than other apps suite vendors, one way to do that is to reduce OS and hardware costs.

Watch for "Oracle saves $500M by switching its app servers to LINUX on Intel, you can do it to" news items next year...
