Re: OT : ERP tool for evaluation

I have no idea who told you to "pick up a copy for evaluation," but it shows that person's lack of knowledge about ERP packages. They're complex, and won't work out of the box without configuration. It's the configuration that consumes the bulk of an implementation, both in dollars and time. Even if you go with a completely "standard" install, you'll still need to do a lot of data conversion.

That being said, you can't get an evaluation copy of any of these, because they won't work. Besides, none of the vendors want you to find out it'll take 30 days just to install before your your users ever get to see it.

Going back to the person who requested you come up with an evaluation copy, if this is their level of understanding in regards to ERP and they're in any type of position to recommend it, your firm will underestimate the cost and complexity of the project, which will either fail and possibly financially ruin your company, or will succeed and financially ruin your company.

Dear all !
I need to get an ERP package / tools such as Oracle Applications / SAP / PeopleSoft etc
Would anyone please suggest where can i get it for evaluation, i.e. free or fairly cheap for a limited time period.
