Eh? Laugh out loud - in silence? Bit of an oxymoron?

Yea yea I know - complicated words on a Monday morning! So shoot me! ;P

Mark (mournful optimist) Leith

P.S Obligatory Oracle thread:

http://www.dictionary.com/cgi-bin/dict.pl?term=Oracle

The answer of a god, or some person reputed to be a god, to an inquiry respecting some affair or future event, as the success of an enterprise or battle.

Seems quite relevant to the thread as well :P

Just call me God!

P.P.S Not *that* relevant - but I *did* get the word Oracle in there somewhere! :)

Subject: How to find out what caused job to fail?

     Hi!

Is there a way to find out, why a database job failed? in dba_jobs (or
user_jobs), I can only see that it failed, but no indication of the reason why it failed. Any ideas?

     This is 8.1.7 on Solaris.

     Thanks,
     Helmut
