I think you can figure just from the text that this was a hoax.  red hat acquiring microsoft?  now that would take some serious capitalization.

usatoday.com doesn't use SSL and that link without SSL isn't on their site...

It's not a rumor, it's true...MS is letting themselves become aquired by Red Hat, they figure that all the lawsuits will have to be dropped, and there going to put the Windows GUI onto RH Linux.  A killer combo.
