I didn't say Rich's book is bad, just that if you could only buy one, I'd buy the 101 book. It's written in a more "friendly" style than the other one, mostly because that's the goal of the 101 series.

Of course, since I did some of the editing on the book, I'm prejudiced (and no, I don't get any money if more copies sell)

define "masters of Oracle" -- there are a heck of lot of incredibly brilliant Oracle users (developers and DBAs) who don't work for TUSC

As for Alomari's book -- it deals more with OS tuning for Oracle than for performance tuning within the database.
