Brian,
If I remember correctly Cognos will present data to the users only after you have populated the catalogs of Cognos. The catalogs are basiclly a table description only allowing the users to see certian columns. Like a view. each user can have a different catalog depending on the departmental and corporate requirements. It has been a while ago that I looked over the material for the product. Why not look into Oracle discoverer? I think that is the package that allows dynamic reporting along with the Oracle developer suite.

Does anyone have any experience with Brio, Cognos, or any other Business
Intelligence Suites? If so,what are some pros and cons of them?  I have looked at Oracle's data mining suite, but it looks like it requires heavy development to deploy reports and tools(WeReceived: from CONNECT-MTA by galotter don't have
an
in-house Java developer).
I hope this isn't too offtopic(Hey I mentioned Oracle) Thanks for any
info you can give me.

-Brian
