Unless you have the need to support other languages other than English or need to support characters
like the Euro, don't bother. You would not believe the pains we are having here trying to get UTF8
working correctly... WE8ISO8859P1 or P15 might be a choice for you. See what other listers have to
say.

I have always used US7ASCII character set. I am creating a new server and database for an existing production application and I was wondering if I should be using one of the newer character sets. Is there a newer character set that would still work with the old application data?
