Ok.

If you have any jobs registered against that node, try to de-register it/them.

Silly question, perhaps: You do have a dbsnmp user account in the instances you wish to monitor? If not, you need to run catsnmp.sql from rdbms/admin. It will create a standard account. Do a search in Metalink on how to change the default password for dbsnmp.

If you do have the dbsnmp account already, do this:

Stop the Oracle Agent on the remote node, the one you are monitoring using the OEM.

Go to $ORACLE_HOME/network/agent and remove services.ora and the *.q files.

Go to $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin and remove the snmp_ro.ora and snmp_rw.ora files.

This effectively wipes out any record of jobs against the instance(s).

>From the OEM, in the Navigator pane on the left, select the node which is giving you grief.

r-click, select Delete or Remove (can't remember the exact word).

A couple of warning windows will appear telling you you have events, etc. - acknowledge them both.

Wait a couple of minutes.

If you had created a group in the Groups pane, you may get error messages telling you this or that element no longer exists. OK to all.

Then, once the OEM console is clean, go to the remote node.

Issue a lsnrctl dbsnmp_start

Wait a couple of minutes.

Go to the OEM console, and re-discover that node.

It should be OK then.

I have tried, but they show a status of pending. I am unable to de-register from OEM against this node.

Have you cleared out all registered events, jobs, and alerts against this node?

Hi:
I am running into this problem with OEM while trying to delete a node previously configured. OEM returns an error VNI-4040 Node agent queue file may be corrupted. I have gone through a few postings on Metalink and implemented the suggestions there such as removing .q files in agent directory on the NODE and restating agent on the node, bouncing OMS on the client side but the problem persists.

I would appreciate recommendations on resolving this problem.

Thanks

-Srini
