Well,

The database we are talking here is basically athlete's information who compete in various games. I (and others in the DBA group) can be trusted to hold the key, so that isn't a problem either.

There will always one person available who will have access to key if something needs to be fixed.

Thanks for the input guys ... not I have to convince the development team that they * really * need encryption.
