Delete and recreate a database

Hi,

There has been many questions and answers regarding this topic. I have used oradim -sid -delete then os commands to delete datafiles. Then recreate the db with scripts with no apparent problems. It has worked just fine, but doesn't seem like anyone else uses this process. Is there a preferred method to delete and recreate a database? Am I leaving myself open to other problems using this process?

Thanks,

Ken Hitchcox
