using Net8 through NAT router

I am trying to connect to a database on the "inside" of a NAT. I get a tns connection time-out error. According to Oracle, I have to use Connection Manager. I find this a little hard to believe. I would think a CISCO router doing NAT would be smart enough to translate Net8 packet headers for me.

Anyone?
