Hi All,

If I have an index on a key field of type VARCHAR and double its size from 15 to 30, how will this impact performance? By performance, I mean data retrieval.

I think that if we are talking about small quantities of data (> 500MB maybe?) things would slow some but not appreciably. Am I correct? Or maybe there are other factors I am not considering?
