Hi,

I am about to upgrade our databases from 8.0.5 to 8.0.6 (on HP-UX). For reasons beyond my control, I am not allowed to change the current ORACLE_HOME (which is /opt/oracle/product/8.0.5).

Can I deinstall my 8.0.5 binaries and install the 8.0.6 binaries (same oracle_home), the run the u* script and do the other steps for an upgrade?

Or do I have to use that db assistant and do an Upgrade Database objects.

Thanks

Sujatha
