Now the last I heard, 8.1.7 would be the last release for OpenVMS. Has Oracle changed their mind? Will 9i be the last release? Hasn't Compaq decided to de-support VMS in the future?

*I say port VMS to Intel platform, then we will have Linux & VMS as viable alternatives*

Sorry, but there is no /SORT qualifier on DIRECTORY. "GOLD" key is PF1 ("Num lock" on non-LK keyboards that have proper keymapping). The old WPS keyboards had a yellow-gold cap for PF1, blue for PF2, etc. And you'll get an error if you try to RUN Autogen, since it's a command procedure and not an executable.

I think you need some WD-40 on your VMS... :)

BTW, to keep this on-topic, Oracle 8.1.7 runs great on VMS and I'm looking forward to trying 9i.

DIR/SORT=DATE (Try with HELP DIR first. My VMS is a bit rusty, probably beacuse
I haven't used it since the version 5.5-2 which was a long, long time ago when the dinosaurs were walking the earth and people knew what "EDT" and was

and what is a "GOLD" key".
run $SYS$update:autogen nofeedback
